Mandia (Ragi/Finger Millet) or Millet (ମାଣ୍ଡିଆ) is a nutritious and healthy ingredient that is used to prepare lots of dishes in Odisha. Mandia Jau (ମାଣ୍ଡିଆ ଜାଉ), Mandia Cookies, Mandia Ladoo, etc are very famous.
Here is the Mandia Manda Pitha (Odia: ମାଣ୍ଡିଆ ମଣ୍ଡା ପିଠା) that was made for the 1st Mandia Dibasa, also known as Millet Divas, at the home of our friend Manas Muduli.
In Odisha, the Manda Pitha is a steamed pitha stuffed with grated coconut. The majority of the time, it is cooked for festivals like Manabasa Gurubara, Durga Puja, Kumar Purnima, and Rakhi Purnima which happen during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons.
