Labanga lata (ଲବଙ୍ଗ ଲତା) is a popular sweet dish from the Indian state of Odisha. This is also called Labangi in the Odia language. This is prepared by putting clove into the round-shaped dough.
This sweet is deep-fried in oil until they turn golden brown and crispy. After frying, they are traditionally soaked in a sugar syrup flavor, which gives them a fragrant and sweet taste.
Labanga lata is often served as a dessert or sweet snack during festivals and special occasions like marriages in Odisha and is a favorite among locals and region visitors.
